Oggi ho ritirato gli ultimi 2 pezzi che mi permetteranno di chiudere con l’arredamento di Dreamer.
Grazie a mio amico Franco, appassionato di barche, nonchè proprietario della Top Tech, ditta specializzata nella lavorazione del Corian con sede a Maserada sul Piave, sono riuscito ad avere la clonazione della ghiacciaia e del zona lavandino in Corian, eliminando in un colpo solo tutti i vecchi problemi che affliggevano i vecchi mobili di legno. Ora non ci saranno più’ perdite d’acqua e l’aspetto sarà decisamente più’ bello.
Ho inoltre eliminato i portabottiglie (inutili) e ho sostituito il tutto con una nuova vaschetta adiacente la ghiacciaia.
Manca solo la coibentazione della ghiacciaia ..ma questo non è un problema visto che mio cognato Stefano di materiale per coibentazione ne usa a tonnellate.
Abitare in Veneto aiuta ….ci sono migliaia di ditte nel giro di pochi KM che ti possono aiutare nel restaurare qualsiasi cosa!!!

Today I took the last 2 pieces that will allow me to close with the Dreamer’s interiors.
Thanks to my friend Franco, boat’s lover , as well as owner of the Top Tech company specialized in working with Corian based in Maserada sul Piave, I managed to get the cloning of ice box and sink area made with Corian , eliminating at a stroke all old problems that plagued the old wooden furniture. Now there will be no leaking and the look is definitely more beautiful.
I also removed the bottle storage (useless) and I replaced it all with a new tank adjacent to the icebox.
Missing only the insulation of icebox .. but this is not a problem because my brother in law Stephen uses ton of insulation material for his work…so i will have some for free.. lucky!!.
Living in Veneto help …. there are thousands of companies within a few km you can help in restoring anything!

I pulpiti sia di poppa che di prua sono dei mondi a sé… difficili e complicati da rimontare
(almeno per quanto mi riguarda..)
Martedì ho impiegato quasi 8 ore per rimontare il pulpito di prua e installare i nuovi fanali di via in acciaio lucido, la bitta di ormeggio e la base dello strallo di prua, con le relative contro piastre di rinforzo in acciaio e impermeabilizzare il tutto usando il butile.
Ho fatto un bel lavoro e credo che l’acqua se ne starà lontana per parecchio tempo… ma ragazzi ..che fatica!!!!!

The stern and bow pulpit are “worlds in themselves” … difficult and complicated to replace and fix (..at least for me ..).
Tuesday I spent “only” 8 hours to mount the bow pulpit with new shine steel navigation lights, the mooring cleat, and the base of the forestay, with relatives marine steel  backing plates 4 mm, and  using butyl to avoid leaking.
I did a good job and I think that the water will be away for a long time … !!

Come già avevo accennato lunedì ho montato i nuovi oblò’ della Ertec-Danimarca, arrivati in 3 giorni  secondo le previsione del proprietario Sam Shad, che pubblicamente ringrazio per la sua cortesia, precisione, disponibilità e per l’altissima qualità dei suoi prodotti. Gli oblò a differenza di quelli della BJERG che avevano il profilo di gomma  a U per contenere il vetro dentro la cornice in alluminio e con il tempo causa di perdita d’acqua, gli oblò della Ertec sono un passo avanti in quanto l’impermeabilità viene garantita nel tempo dall’incollaggio del vetro sulla cornice in alluminio.
Montati in sole 4 ore su Dreamer utilizzando TefGel in abbondanza sulle viti per evitare frizioni e corrosione galvanica. Montarli è stato un gioco da ragazzi grazie alle chiare e semplici istruzioni.
Se dovete incollare i vostri oblo’ perche’ vi entra acqua…. pensateci bene, forse la vostra barca merita di più’ magari oblò’ nuovi e funzionali per altri 30 anni!!!

As I already mentioned, Monday I installed the new portholes made by ERTEC-Denmark, arrived only in 3 days as the prediction of the owner of Ertec Mr. Sam Shad, I want thank him for his courtesy, availability, accuracy, and the high quality of his products.
The portholes, unlike those of Bjerg who had the U-profile rubber to hold the glass into the aluminum frame and after  years cause leaking, the portholes madeby ERTEC are a step forward because the glass is glued on aluminum frame and they are water-resistant guaranteed.
I mounted the portholes  in 4 hours using TefGel in abundance on the screws and holes to avoid galvanic corrosion and friction. Mount the portholes was a piece of cake thanks also to the clear and simple instructions Sam sent me.
If you want glue your porthole becouse they leaking …. think about it… maybe your boat  worth more ..probably  new portholes, so they will be functional for another 30 years!
Dreamer now has brand new portholes ‘!! THANKS SAM!! THANKS ERTEC !!

Accidenti… oggi è arrivato il momento di rimettere su il pulpito di poppa con tutte le contropiastre di acciao di rinforzo. Sapevo che no era una passeggiata.. anzi e stato un bel grattacapo. Per iniziare ho dovuto allargare i fori dove passano i golfari  (Wichard con  1500kg di carico di rottura!! x 2!!!)  dello strallo di poppa e poi ho dovuto allineare viti e gomma passa cavo nelle corrispondenti piastre… un incubo!!Ma alla fine c’è l’ho fatta. Per evitare infiltrazioni ho usato il nastro di butile. Con tutte le viti in pressione voglio ben vedere se entrerà un goccio d’acqua!

Damn … today is the time to put on the stern pulpit with all the steel backplates for reinforcement. I knew it was not a walk .. and indeed was a real headache. To start I had to enlarge the holes where they pass the backstay’s eyebolts (Wichard- 1500kg breaking load !!!x2!!)  and then I had to line up screws and rubber cord passes into the corresponding plates … a nightmare!But at the end I made it. Off course..I used  butyl tape to avoid any water infiltration.
