Oggi piove..andare a lavorare su Dreamer sotto la pioggia non se ne parla. Per cui al coperto mi sono sistemato e lucidato il boma Selden.
A prima vista ho notato subito che qualcosa non andava, tutto cio’ che era avvitato non era stato isolato!
Acciaio e alluminio si sa che non si amano se stanno troppo a contatto, quindi per quale strano motivo non usare qualche sostanza che isoli questi 2 metalli. Boh?!?
Perchè rischiare di rovinare materiale costoso per non perdere 5 minuti in piu’?
Comunque detto fatto. Mi sono svitato con moltissima attenzione tutte le viti in acciaio per evitare di romperle, e per fortuna tutto è filato liscio, e le ho ripassate con Duralac sia vite che foro, cosi anche tra 10 anni si potra’ svitare tutto senza danni.
Visto l’esperienza del boma mi sa che controllero’ attentamente anche l’albero!!!!

Today it’s raining .. go to work on Dreamer in the rain.. no way! So I settled on indoor and I check and polished the Selden boom.
At first glance I noticed immediately that something was wrong, everything ‘that had been screwed on was not isolated !
Steel and aluminum are known not to love each other too if they are in contact especially in marine enviroment , and for what strange reason not to use any substance that isolate these 2 metals. Boh?!?
Why risk ruining expensive material to not lose more than 5 minutes’?
Does that fact. I unscrewed all the screws very carefully to avoid breaking steel, and fortunately everything went smoothly, and I use Duralac both on screw / hole,
so even 10 years you can ‘undo all without damage.
After this experience I will check carefully the mast!
